White House plots total ethnic cleansing of Gaza

On Sunday, the Washington Post published a 38-page plan for the ethnic cleansing of Gaza, drawn up with the collusion of the Boston Consulting Group and the staff of former UK prime minister Tony Blair, and actively discussed at the White House.

The plan, according to the Washington Post, “envisions at least a temporary relocation of all of Gaza’s more than 2 million population, either through what it calls ‘voluntary’ departures to another country or into restricted, secured zones inside the enclave during reconstruction.”

The Post implied that the plan was discussed at a meeting last Wednesday at the White House, which Blair attended. White House officials were tight-lipped about the contents of the discussion, saying only that it focused on efforts to “settle” the war and for the “day after” Gaza.

In reality, the plan published by the Washington Post envisions a 21st century Holocaust, involving the rounding up of the entire population of Gaza into concentration camps. From there, they would be forced, through starvation and disease, to flee their land.

Once the ethnic cleansing of the enclave is complete, Gaza is expected, according to the report, to have an “asset value” of $320 billion. Moreover, the report values the economic benefit of forcing every Palestinian off their land at $23,000 per person.

The plan would turn Gaza “into a trusteeship administered by the United States for at least 10 years while it is transformed into a gleaming tourism resort and high-tech manufacturing and technology hub.”

Trump’s declaration earlier this year that the United States and Israel would “own” Gaza, far from being a turn of phrase, is, in fact, the operative program of the United States and Israel.

In February, President Donald Trump declared, “We’re going to have Gaza… We don’t have to buy. There’s nothing to buy. We will have Gaza... We’re going to take it.”

These declarations are in line with the statements of the Israeli government. On Thursday, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich declared, “Israel must completely hold control of the entire Strip, forever. We will annex a security perimeter and open the gates of Gaza for voluntary emigration.”

In May, Smotrich said, “Within a year... Gaza will be entirely destroyed, civilians will be sent to... the south to a humanitarian zone... and from there they will start to leave in great numbers to third countries.”

In August, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel is “talking to several countries” about accepting Palestinians displaced from Gaza. These countries include Libya, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Indonesia and Somaliland.

The plan published by the Washington Post would solicit both government and private funding, with a massive return on investment. Based on $100 million to $200 million of initial funding, the trust’s annual revenue is expected to exceed $4.5 billion by year 10.

It envisions the construction of a so-called “Abrahamic Infrastructure Corridor,” involving “massive railways, pipelines, and fibers built to connect the Abraham Gateway to regional hubs across the IMEC: KSA/UAE, Egypt, Israel, and Jordan.”

In other words, the control of Gaza will not merely be a land grab for real estate development—although it will certainly be that—but a key point in a “new Middle East” under direct imperialist domination. This is a major step forward in the decades-long effort by the United States to conquer this strategic region.

For the first time, the document published by the Post reveals that the so-called “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation” (GHF) is to be the entity operating the camps into which the Palestinians are to be displaced. The GHF routinely carries out massacres of Palestinian aid-seekers in the guise of providing food. A report published in June in Haaretz revealed that Israeli soldiers were explicitly instructed to fire into crowds of aid-seekers at GHF facilities.

The previous record of the GHF makes clear that the concentration camps into which the Palestinian population is to be displaced will, in fact, be death camps. There, the Palestinians are to be given starvation rations and routinely massacred, precisely as they are now at GHF “food distribution” centers.

Facing starvation and certain death, the Palestinians will thus be “allowed” to “voluntarily” migrate. In other words, the “voluntary” migration described by the Trump White House and Israeli government is what in all other definitions is called forced ethnic cleansing.

To date, the Israeli genocide in Gaza has officially killed 60,000 Palestinians, with the real death toll likely more than 100,000.

Last month, the UN-backed Integrated Food Security Phase Classification food monitor declared that famine has officially set in in Gaza City. The report stated bluntly that this famine is “entirely man-made” and added that “this is the highest number of people facing catastrophic hunger ever recorded by the Integrated Food Security Classification system.”

So far, over 300 Palestinians have died of starvation or malnutrition in Gaza, including over 100 children.
